An Andean Spring? A Round Table on the crisis in Ecuador
What are the underlying causes and aims of the recent protests in Ecuador? Who are the key political actors? How widespread and unified are the protests, both within Ecuador and across the Andean region? What is new and what is old about this crisis? Is this the beginning of ‘an Andean spring?’
In this roundtable, historians and anthropologists with contacts ‘on the ground’ will present and discuss underreported aspects of contemporary events in Ecuador and the wider Andean region.
