Abstract : Since the beginning of the 21st century, a wave of democratic innovation has promoted the design and implementation of several participative institutions in Latin America. In the field of neo-extractive projects, prior consultation to indigenous communities has been broadly documented. In México, besides prior consultation, other participative institutions (such as public consultation, communal assemblies, social impact assessment, participatory budgets) were implemented.
