Piazzolla 2021: Musical Cultural Transfer Argentina – Europe
Online Symposium:
4.11.–6.11.2021, via Webex:
The State Institute for Music Research and the Ibero-American Institute have taken two anniversaries in 2021 as an opportunity to focus on the musical cultural transfer between Argentina and Europe in the 20th/21st century: Astor Piazzolla’s 100th birthday and Mauricio Kagel’s 90th birthday. After a kick-off event in May 2021 with the composer Juan María Solare, there will now be a concert with Omar Massa and a symposium with the participation of international scholars that will not only deal with the works of the two centenarians, but also with the tango in European art music and other Argentine composers.
